Gojoseon Era:
Gojoseon was founded by Dangun Wanggeom in 2333 BC.
Dangun Wanggeom is considered the legendary founder of the Korean people and is credited with creating the Korean alphabet, known as Hangul.
Three Kingdoms Period:
In 57 BC, three kingdoms called Baekje, Silla, and Gaya were formed.
These kingdoms competed and cooperated with each other, leading to advancements in culture and politics.
Goryeo Dynasty:
Goryeo was established in 918 AD, adopting the name "Daehan" for the country.
Goryeo is well-known for its Buddhist culture and achievements by scholars.
Joseon Dynasty:
Joseon was founded in 1392 AD and lasted for about 500 years.
During this period, Hangul developed into its current form that we use today.
Japanese Colonial Period:
From 1910 to 1945, Korea was under Japanese colonial rule.
Many resistance movements and independence activities took place during this time, with numerous heroes sacrificing their lives for independence.
Establishment of the Republic of Korea:
After World War II ended, the Republic of Korea government was established in 1948.
The Korean Peninsula became divided into North Korea (Democratic People's Republic of Korea) and South Korea (Republic of Korea).
Present Day:
South Korea continues to pursue future-oriented development and has experienced significant economic growth.
Korean popular culture (K-pop, K-drama) has gained global recognition.
